Worth mentioning in this preview of the Climatological Report 2008 are the various land spouts which occurred on several occasions in both Curaçao and Aruba. The development and passage of tropical storm and later hurricane Omar in mid October 2008 influenced the weather in all six islands of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. The strong winds, rough seas and heavy rain caused significant damage along especially our south and west facing shores.
