1756
The first meteorological observation reported in Curaçao.
1830
The first rainfall measurements at Savonet, Curaçao (1879, St. Maarten; 1881 St. Eustatius; 1891 Saba; 1901 Aruba and Bonaire).
1894
The USA Weather Bureau starts with an observation station in Curaçao as part of the Early Hurricane Warning System.
1920
The USA Weather Bureau passes on the observation station to the Government of Curaçao under the department of Agriculture. In those days being a division of the Public Works and later Harbor Office.
1947
Opening of the Meteorological Service at the Dr. Albert Plesman Airport (Hato International Airport).
1951
The Netherlands Antilles obtain the WMO Membership.
1953
Start of an independent Meteorological Service through a Governmental act.
1956
Establishment of the upper air observations on Curaçao and St. Maarten.
1972

Start of the divisions of the Meteorological Service in Aruba and

St. Maarten.

1976
Move of the headquarter of the Meteorological Service from Hato Airport to its present location at Mahuma, Curaçao.
2003
Renewal of the Governmental act regarding the tasks of the Meteorological Service.
